Gravity

I remembered about gravity today. How we all attract one another. We bend space and we bend emotions and we bend our bodies to fit into what we hope might become home. The space between you and I, so temporary. Our gravitational pulls doing just that; pulling us closer together until there ceases to be a you and an I as we all but occupy the same space and it's impossible but it feels right. To be together. To give in to gravity.

Remember gravity. Forcing us together. Pulling the world in our direction.

Quantum Entanglement

I like the idea of two electrons being entangled forever. Linked, somehow, with a force we can't comprehend. One spins left, the other spins left. No matter how far away they are. No matter how quickly they met in passing. Affecting each other, moment by moment, so we can't even describe one without bringing up the other. Forever concerned with each other. How do they know when to turn?

I like the idea of two people being entangled forever. Linked, somehow, with a force we can't comprehend. I think that's how it happens. No matter how fleeting a friendship, we affect one another, forever mixed up in each others' lives because of a chance meeting. We change each other even when we don't mean to.

I don't think the electrons know when to turn. They just do.

I like to think that quantum entanglement says a lot about us. Turns us into objects for observation. Turns us into electrons, excited by anything, moving too quickly to count, working together to force the universe into existence.

It exists because we make it that way. Because we make each other into the people we are. Never alone, despite how it may feel when you wake up in the middle of the night cold and can't get back to sleep for all the things racing through your mind and everyone else looks peaceful and unconcerned and you know, you just know that they cannot feel what you feel. We exist in the way we exist because we are never alone. You spin left, I spin left. I promise I will always spin with you.
